Information Technology in Support of Student-Centered Learning

One of the approach to education that focussing on the student's needs, abilities, interests, and learning styles with the teacher as a facilitator of learning is the Student-Centered Learning.This will supported by the information technology enables methods through which important thinking processes can be guided. They support inquiry through information seeking, retrieval, and generation to gain more effectiveness and efficiency in teaching. As a future teacher we are not only still remain in tradition way of teaching wherein only the teacher who spending time in disscussion about the lesson and classroom management but let the students discover themselves new learning, have more drills/activity which enhance also the multiple intelligences of the students and discover their strong and weaknesses through integrating in IT (Information technology)

We can see the big difference from traditional learning than resource based learning in this approach because as I observed during my high school time in which only the teachers who spend the time in lesson presentation until the end of the day, students encountered boredom. In this kind of teaching styles i know teacher facing hardship in handling the students specially in public school wherein in classroom is composed of more than 45 students if the teacher apply different kind of activities in enhancing their individual abilities because of overcrowded. So in this time  i know that it is more become effective if the teacher integrate the lesson in IT because computer has a capacity to provide information and deliver learning instruction. And in this time the role of the teacher is serve as a guide and facilitator not an expert information provider. With this the students become an active not passive learners who can interact with their classmates and become independence.
